Seven Sisters 10 Quins 31

The Quins maintained their position at the head of division one with a bonus point win at the expense of Seven Sisters. The home side started smartly and the Quins were forced onto the back foot and conceding penalties. Full back Norton put Seven ahead with a straight penalty goal before the Quins settled into a goodrhythm. Good line out ball from Beynon, Bowen and Saker allied to complete dominance in the scrum allowed the visitors to turn the screw and a tremendous combination of running and passing between Ryan Pugh and Steve Colarusso resulted in Pugh crossing unopposed, Sheppard converted.

Hooker Luke Davies was in top form and scattered bodies to all points of the compass with his trade mark running.

Recent signing Mathew Saker showed strength and skill at No.8 and capped an all round eye catching performance with the Quins second try which Sheppard improved.

The Quins props Dan Helson and Dan Morgan were very much on top in the scrums but also contributed much in loose play where Helson in particular put in some strong runs and some breathtaking tackles.

Foard Cooksley at full back was always full of enterprise and his quick thinking led to the Quins third try when he smartly took a tapped penalty resulting in Kyle Williams celebrating his return to the first XV with a corner try. Sheppard goaled to make 21-3 at the break.

Early in the second half Seven attacked hard and fly half Kyle Davies was well supported by Gareth Wyn Thomas and Dean Howells but with their pack under the hammer they had little chance to shine. Pick of the home forwards was number 8 Jon Hapgood who gave his side hope by crossing for a well deserved score Norton converted. It was unfortunate that fleet footed Norton sustained an injury forcing the full back off towards the end. Injury to Quins scrum half Peploe-Williams brought Con O'Callaghan into the fray and with fresh legs in the pack through  Hopkins, Oates, Morley and Jon Thomas  the home effort waned and injuries reduced them to fourteen men as O'Callaghan secured the bonus point with two late unconverted tries.
